Job description

Join the UK's leading defence company as a MIG/MAG Welder working on the prestigious Boxer Programme a cutting-edge military vehicle initiative. You ll operate in a state-of-the-art facility as part of a dedicated fabrication team delivering mission-critical equipment to the Ministry of Defence. Full training and certification support will be provided to ensure your qualifications meet EN ISO (phone number removed) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG/MAG welding on armour plates in line with engineering drawings and work instructions.

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and identify hazards before commencing tasks.

  • Conduct visual and non-destructive inspections to verify conformity.

  • Operate tools and measuring instruments with precision.

  • Maintain qualifications through regular European welder approval tests.

  • Accurately record work in SAP within our MRP system.

What We re Looking For:

Essential:

  • Recognised time-served apprenticeship in welding or relevant trade.

  • Strong experience in welding or fitting in a heavy manufacturing or fabrication environment.

  • Good understanding of production processes and health, safety, and environmental compliance.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

  • ISO 14732 Welding Operator Qualification.

  • ISO 9606 Part 1 and/or 2 Welder Qualification.
