Job Description:

Salary Starting rate £11.75 - £13.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Purpose

Responsible for welding components in the required quantities which conform to the company`s quality standards under ISO 9001:2015

Reports to Supervisor

Key Areas of Job

➢ Working safely to obtain the appropriate jigs and tools from their respective locations arranging these jigs / tools to produce the required component
➢ For all categories of components work using SOP’s to produce components correct to customer specifications

This may involve:
- tacking of the components
- finish welding of tacked components or
- both tacking and finishing welding of the same components
➢ To produce the required batch of components, ensuring that all the components within the batch comply in all respects with the customer specifications and quality standards
➢ On completion of the required batch, to return the Jigs / tools to their storage areas and also remove the finished components to the allocated work in progress area
➢ To ensure that the welding machines are operated using safe working practices
➢ To ensure that the welding machines are set to the optimum parameters for the required joint configuration
➢ To ensure that at all times the working areas are kept tidy
➢ To work safely and follow all company safety procedures
➢ Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiative
➢ In the event that there is a problem producing a satisfactory component that meets customer specifications during production both dimensionally and in appearance then contact must be made with the appropriate Team Leader and or a Quality Leader as per instructions
➢ To operate the overhead crane to transport, materials jigs, components Etc
➢ To undertake any other duties which the company may require as and when necessary

Key Post Holder Requirements

Must be available to work on a variety of shifts in line with business demands

  • Must have own Transport - due to location and shift working requirement
  • Must be experienced and competent in steel fabrication
  • 1 years experience of welded component manufacture
  • Qualified to BS EN ISO 9606-1
  • Knowledge of production machinery grinders, presses, lifting equipment
  • Successfully completed a welding apprenticeship or equivalent in welding

Early Shift: 6am-2pm Mon to Thurs & 6am-1pm Fri

Back Shift: 2pm-12am Mon to Thurs (Fridays off)

Night Shift: 10.30pm - 6am Sunday and 10.00pm -6am Mon to Fri
