We are working with a company specialising in the production of sheet metal products.
Primary responsibilities:
- Weld and fabricate a variety of bespoke components using stainless steel, nickel alloys, and mild steel materials, with sheet metal gauges generally between 0.9mm & 6mm.
- Weld and fabricate frameworks from mild steel rolled, stainless steel, hollow sections, and angle iron to a high standard.
- Read engineering drawings and translate them into end products with minimal supervision.
- Achieve a high standard of finish and tolerance on bespoke fabricated products.
- Complete problem logs regarding issues with drawings and materials.
- Carry out site work when necessary.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Apprentice trained (City and Guilds or NVQ equivalent in fabrication and welding) and/or a time-served fabricator/welder.
- Previous experience in welding and fabricating bespoke products, including sheet metal, within a light/medium fabrication environment.
- Good MIG, TIG, and spot-welding skills; a weld test will be part of the interview process.
- Strong calculation skills and ability to work to fine tolerances.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly motivated with a team-oriented work style.
