Qualifications

  • Perform Orbital TIG welding and manual tacking on various materials.
  • Follow specifications, engineering drawings, and maintain high aerospace standards.
  • Participate in safety and continuous improvement activities.

Job description

Welder

Location: Redditch

Contract: Permanent

We are looking for a skilled Orbital Welder to join an aerospace client based in Redditch. The products you will be working on will be predominately for the aerospace industry, used in fuel pipework for engines.
Our client work to high standards, and strict industry compliance.

Role Responsibilities - Welder

  • Orbital TIG welding and manual tacking both thin wall and thick tubing. Materials include but are not limited to Stainless Steel, Inconel, Titanium.
  • Strict following of Data Cards, process specifications, Engineering Drawings, Standard Work Instructions, Preventative Maintenance, 5S standards and audits, and any other systems or procedures to maintain high Aerospace standards of product integrity and lean manufacturing execution.
  • Ability to use, maintain, program orbital TIG welding equipment and the use of measurement equipment such as shadowgraph, borescopes, Vernier, micrometre for inspection and fabrication purposes.
  • Able to inspect own work.
  • Prepare components to weld ensuring they conform to a fixture or drawing
  • Sizing, Facing, Polishing, Linishing, cleaning, post weld polishing, cleaning, and packing.
  • Active participation in Safety and Continuous Improvement actives

An ideal candidate for the Welder role would have:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with welded components
  • Metal fabrication or fabrication before welding is preferable
  • Experience in Orbital Tig Welding
  • Experience in using Orbital Tig Welding machinery.
