Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Welder for the Grimsby Area to perform fabrication and welding to high quality standards. You will work within safety policies, read and implement task sheets, and maintain equipment and records.

The role requires MAG/MMA welding experience and a strong safety mindset. The successful candidate will join a team focused on delivering state-of-the-art infrastructure projects across the UK, with opportunities for training and development.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fabrication and welding activities to the required quality standards.
• Work safely and in accordance with Company policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
• Attend inductions, briefings and toolbox talks as required.
• Read, understand and implement Task Sheets, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work.
• Assess risks and maintain safe working practices at all times.
• Use the correct tools, equipment and PPE for the task being undertaken.
• Maintain plant, equipment and tools in good condition.
• Inspect and assess damaged equipment and accurately report defects.
• Complete timesheets, records and documentation accurately and on time.
• Liaise with Supervisors and Management regarding work requirements and priorities.
• Contribute proactively to safety initiatives, including Hazard and Near Miss reporting.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Attend relevant training and development activities as required.
