Job summary

Advanced Engineering in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Welder (MIG & TIG) to join a busy manufacturing team. The role offers £20 per hour and a 37.5 hour week, Monday to Friday, with work based in Sheffield.

You will set up welding equipment, perform MIG and TIG welds to spec, and prepare joints as required, ensuring high-quality output and safety with overhead equipment where trained.

Qualifications

• Experienced MIG / TIG Welder with fabrication/manufacturing background.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong MIG and TIG welding skills with prep, measuring and finishing.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Set up and use welding equipment and related machinery safely.

Are you a Welder who can MIG and TIG Weld, looking for a new opportunity to join a busy manufacturing business in Sheffield?

The Role:

• Set up and use welding equipment and related machinery safely and correctly
• Carry out high-quality MIG and TIG welding to the required standards and specifications
• Carry out welding preparation work including cleaning, grinding, drilling and preparing joints as required
• Check work for accuracy, quality and compliance with drawings and specifications
• Work safely with overhead cranes, lifting equipment and mechanical handling equipment where trained and authorised
• Report defects, drawing issues, material concerns or production problems to the line manager

Suitable Candidate:

• Experienced MIG / TIG Welder
• Worked within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment previously
• Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings
• Strong practical MIG and TIG Welding skills, including preparation, measuring and finishing work
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable and proactive with the ability to work as part of a team
