Job summary

Advanced Engineering in Oldham is seeking an experienced Welder capable of MIG and TIG welding to join a busy manufacturing environment.

You will set up welding equipment, prepare joints, read engineering drawings, and ensure quality against specifications. The role requires safe operation of cranes and reporting issues. This is a Monday to Friday, 37.5 hour week role with a £20 per hour rate.

Qualifications

  • Experience in MIG and TIG welding in fabrication or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and use welding equipment and related machinery safely and correctly.
  • Carry out high-quality MIG and TIG welding to required standards and specifications.
  • Carry out welding preparation work including cleaning, grinding and preparing joints as required.
  • Check work for accuracy, quality and compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Work safely with overhead cranes and lifting equipment where trained and authorised.
  • Report defects or production problems to the line manager.

Welder - MIG & TIG

Are you a Welder who can MIG and TIG Weld, looking for a new opportunity to join a busy manufacturing business in Oldham?

The Role:
  • Set up and use welding equipment and related machinery safely and correctly
  • Carry out high-quality MIG and TIG welding to the required standards and specifications
  • Carry out welding preparation work including cleaning, grinding, drilling and preparing joints as required
  • Check work for accuracy, quality and compliance with drawings and specifications
  • Work safely with overhead cranes, lifting equipment and mechanical handling equipment where trained and authorised
  • Report defects, drawing issues, material concerns or production problems to the line manager
Suitable Candidate:
  • Experienced MIG / TIG Welder
  • Worked within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment previously
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings
  • Strong practical MIG and TIG Welding skills, including preparation, measuring and finishing work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable and proactive with the ability to work as part of a team
