Navantia UK in Methil is seeking Time-Served Welders to join our shipbuilding and heavy fabrication teams. You will work on major UK maritime projects, performing FCAW welding across multiple positions and with ceramic backing tiles, under Navantia UK supervision.

Onboarding includes BPSS clearance; competitive base pay, pension, and 31 days holiday are offered. This role supports a growing UK capability in Methil and requires witness tests by Navantia UK and an IACS representative.

Competenze

Job Description

NOW HIRING: Welders – Methil (Navantia UK)

Navantia UK, a key player in advanced shipbuilding and heavy fabrication, is expanding its workforce in Methil and is looking for skilled Time-Served Welders to join our team.

Required Qualifications

• Time-served welder – 4G minimum
• SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)

Essential Welding Experience

• Strong experience with FCAW
• Ability to weld in all positions – Butts & Fillets
• Experience working with ceramic backing tiles

Advantageous (But Not Essential) Experience

• SAW (Submerged Arc Welding)
• MCAW
• Mechanised welding systems

If you do not currently hold personal welder codings, in‑house weld testing is available.

Welder Qualification Test (ISO 9606‑1)

Process: 136 / FCAW

You will be tested on:

• PF / Vertical Up – Root, Fill & Cap
• PA / PE – Flat Root (basic cored wire) / Overhead Fill & Cap
• Ceramic backing tile for root pass
• Supplementary PB / Flat fillet weld

All testing is witnessed by Navantia UK personnel and an IACS representative.

Location

Methil, Fife – working on major UK maritime and industrial projects.
