What's involved in this role:

We are looking for a Welder I in Hull, Iowa .

The Welder I is responsible for performing welding-related preventative maintenance and repair, assisting production team in troubleshooting issues to maximize production efficiency.

  • Perform daily preventive maintenance of equipment and systems.
  • Handle repairs of mechanical and building equipment in timely manner to limit production loss.
  • Weld and fabricate a variety of equipment and parts.
  • Install equipment per layout drawings.
  • Prepare parts list for ordering as needed.
  • Assist plant production team troubleshoot production problems.
  • Understand and adhere to all Quality Assurance policies, immediately reporting any potential food safety issues to management.
  • Ensure hot permits, confined space permits, and other safety related paperwork is being completed. As well as ensure all PPE and proper safety protocols are being followed.
  • Effectively perform sanitary welding and moderate pipe fitting (stainless, copper, pvc, etc.).

What you need to join our team:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of related welding experience and/or training required.
  • Experience welding stainless and making food-grade repairs required.
  • Experience welding with stick welder to make a variety of repairs in horizontal, vertical and overhead required.
  • Experience reading and understanding blueprints required.
