Job summary

Ford & Stanley Talent Services Group Ltd is seeking experienced MIG welders for Derby/Nottingham region to support ongoing rail welding projects. Join an expert engineering team delivering high-quality MIG welding, fabrication and surface preparation on rolling stock vehicles.

You will perform welding on structural assemblies, fabricate and prepare surfaces, and read engineering drawings to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

• MIG welding expertise and practical fabrication experience required.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Experience with welding on mild steel and various angles (vertical/overhead).
• Attention to detail and ability to work autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform high‑quality MIG welding on structural assemblies and underframe sections.
• Help fabricate and prepare surfaces ready for welding.

MIG Welders

Location: Nottingham / Derby

Salary: good rates of pay depending on experience

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday – Minimum 40 hours a week

We are seeking experienced MIG welders in the Derby / Nottingham region to support ongoing MIG welding projects within the rail industry.

• Perform high‑quality welding on structural assemblies and underframe sections
• Help to fabricate and prepare surfaces ready for welding

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll offer MIG welding expertise combined with practical mechanical assembly experience.

• A background in welding and fabrication in either MIG, Stick or MMA
• Experience of welding on mild steel
• You will be able to weld different angles such as vertical and overhead and carry out multi runs

• Must be able to work from engineering drawings and instruction.
• Have a strong attention to detail
• Able to work on your own and as part of a team.

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 1 years’ experience
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to pass a medical, drug & alcohol screening
