Overview

Welder / Fabricator - Colchester - 13 - 17 per hour (DOE) - Temp to Perm

Are you a skilled welder/fabricator looking for a stable, long-term opportunity? This is your chance to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing team with a strong reputation for designing and building bespoke steel structures, acoustic enclosures, and precision fabrications used across a wide range of industries.

Responsibilities
  • MIG welding of structural steel, balcony frames, acoustic enclosures, railings, and more
  • Plate fitting, working with welds up to 15-20mm thick
  • Reading and interpreting detailed technical drawings
  • Assisting with wider workshop tasks as needed
  • Collaborating with the fabrication team and project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time
Qualifications
  • NVQ, Diploma, or Apprenticeship in Welding & Fabrication
  • Experience working with MIG welding on medium to heavy gauge steel
  • Confidence in reading and working from technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Own transport due to workshop location
