Location: Hampton Roads Area Command Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center – Norfolk, VA

Position Type: Part -Time

Pay Range: $13.00 - $17.57

About this opportunity:

Assists in providing childcare services for children including personal care, hygiene, learning and development activities and specialized programs; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of childcare property.

Key responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations.
  • Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate special events.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports in an accurate and complete manner.
  • Ability to clearly communicate roles and responsibilities to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and conduct orientations, meetings, trainings, and public presentations.
  • Ability to promote awareness and support for the Volunteer Program.

What we are looking for in you:

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field, and one to three years of experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications/Licenses:

Valid State Driver's License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to speak before large groups in person.
  • Duties are usually performed seated.
  • Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
  • Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
