Rate of pay: £15.36 per hour rising to £16.49 upon successful completion of training.

What you'll be doing
- Responsibility for all aspects of Health and Safety in the sauce cooking weighing area.
- Lead, manage, and control personnel/team in conjunction with the Area Process Leaders (including Absence, Discipline, and Grievance).
- Improve communication to the department on KPI achievements in conjunction with Area Process Leaders.
- Support the delivery of finished sauces to the filling production line on time, in full, and to customer specifications.
- Improve non-right first time by ensuring recipes are manufactured according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Work with the team to ensure sauce cooking labour is fully trained, capable, and available to meet production requirements.
- Adhere to housekeeping standards through the 5S process (once training provided).
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices for the area.
- Ensure internal suppliers/customer relationships and information flow are optimized to support Area Process Leaders.
- Ensure Cooks, Operatives, and Drivers adhere to the production schedule.
- Minimize product wastage.
- Communicate department status clearly at shift changeovers.
- Identify and deliver improvements through Material Variance Analysis projects.
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Work closely with the Area Process Leader to meet the production plan.
- Adhere to Food Manufacturing Safety and Quality Standards.
- Ensure adequate skills training for Cooks, Operatives, and Drivers.
- Report deficiencies to Area Process Leaders.
- Ensure staffing for each filling line to support production.
- Lead, motivate, and support the team to meet performance targets.
- Support Lean Manufacturing techniques in the sauce cooking and weighing areas.
- Reduce material losses through correct delivery of bulk materials.
- Regularly communicate performance and KPI results.
- Coordinate with Area Process Leaders on cooking schedules.
- Work with Raw Materials and testing labs to ensure efficient testing and problem resolution.
- Assist with New Product Development trials.
- Support audits (internal & external).
- Support the Marko weighing system.
What we are looking for
- Minimum GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Food Safety Level 2 (training can be provided).
- Health & Safety Level 2 (training can be provided).
- Knowledge of ingredient functionalities and cooking processes.
- Understanding of food safety and labeling legislation.
- Experience in food manufacturing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to challenge and drive improvements.
- Proven people management skills are desired but not essential.
- Motivational leadership qualities are desired but not essential.
