Job summary

Wilson Recruitment Ltd is seeking a reliable Weighbridge Operative in Leighton Buzzard (LU7 9LF) with an immediate start. The role requires producing weighbridge tickets, coordinating loads via radio, and ensuring PPE compliance for drivers and visitors.

Full training will be provided. The position offers 06:30–16:30 Monday to Friday shifts, with a first-day start at 09:00 to accommodate trainer arrival. Rate depends on PAYE options (£12.71/hour PAYE or £14.25/hour with holiday pay).

Responsibilities

• Accurately produce weighbridge tickets for all inbound and outbound loads.
• Communicate with site staff via radio to coordinate vehicle loading.
• Ensure all drivers and visitors are wearing appropriate PPE.
• Notify drivers of any overweight vehicles.
• Enforce credit stop procedures, only allowing transactions with appropriate authorisation.
• Monitor and report weighbridge issues (damage, cleanliness, inaccuracies).
• Inspect inbound documentation for compliance.
• Accurately complete outbound documentation in line with legislation.
• Maintain a clean and tidy weighbridge office.
• Ensure drivers and visitors understand and follow site rules.
• Answer telephone calls professionally.
• Collaborate with colleagues to operate the site safely and efficiently.
• Uphold health and safety standards, including the use of PPE and reporting of incidents.
