Weighbridge Operator

About Us

Kronospan are extending our vertical integration purchasing strategic recycled timber processing sites across the UK. This will allow customers to ensure that products are returned to Kronospan to be made into new products at end-of-life, making circularity a reality.

Our first operation is based just outside of Chesterfield, in Corbriggs, covering a 21,000m2 site where we are now looking to ramp up the processing and production.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the Weighbridge Operator's position is to perform all assigned tasks, including but not limited to, serving as the central point of safety communication, security and surveillance of the recycling facilities, directing hauliers and contractor activities in the facility, and identifying and weighing inbound and outbound delivery vehicles. The Operator will also be required to perform routine cleaning of their workspaces and general administrative tasks within the Silva recycling site.

Requirements:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving.
• The ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
• Ability to perform routine daily safety checks ensuring compliance onsite.
• Ability to perform routine daily environmental visual inspections of facility grounds.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• High level of customer service skill.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer

This is a permanent position working 40hrs per week plus overtime, between the hours of 07 00, Monday to Friday, with 1hrs unpaid lunch.

Occasional overtime may be available throughout the week and on weekends.

Paying GBP12.50 per hour, and overtime at a rate of GBP18.75 per hour for any hours worked in excess of 48hrs per week.
