Job summary

Enva (Grantham) is seeking a Weighbridge Operative to manage site weighbridge operations, vehicle access, and data entry. You will reconcile weights with stock records, oversee driver PPE, inductions, and safety compliance, while maintaining accurate site records and reporting to the Weighbridge Supervisor.

Permanent full-time role based in Grantham with site-based responsibilities and strong attention to detail in a busy operations environment.

Qualifications

• Weighbridge knowledge and compliance with Road Traffic Act 1988.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Good communication skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Manual data entry and attention to detail.
• Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.
• Capacity to handle routine tasks with sustained focus.

Responsibilities

• Control access of all inbound and outbound vehicles on site.
• Act as first point of contact to external visitors.
• Compile reports for Operations managers.
• Operate the weighbridge and reconcile weights with stock records.
• Ensure paperwork for loads complies with weight regulations as per Road Traffic Act 1988.
• Manage vehicle booking sheets.
• Maintain accurate records for vehicles and materials entering/leaving the site.
• Enter all materials into the company database.
• Notify Goods In/Out of arrivals and loads.
• Instruct drivers on PPE and safety procedures.
• Reconcile weighbridge records with stock and loading data.
• Notify departments of external deliveries.
• Regulate site vehicle flow to maximise production.
• Other duties as required.

Weighbridge Operative

Reporting To: Weighbridge Supervisor

Compensation: £14.61 / hour

Description

To actively and accurately manage the operations of the site Weighbridge, including maintenance of site vehicle transaction records, visitor inductions and production reports as and when are required by the operations department.

Key Responsibilities

• Control access of all inbound and outbound vehicles on site.
• Acting as first point of contact to all external visitors to the site.
• Compile reports for Department managers in Operations
• Operating the weighbridge, ensuring that all vehicles have been accurately weighed upon entry and exit of the site and that these weights reconcile to stock control records.
• Ensuring departing vehicles have the required paperwork for the load they are carrying and that they are in line with weight regulations as per the Road Traffic Act 1988.
• Manage vehicle booking sheets.
• Keeping all required records up to date and accurate regarding individual vehicles and types of materials entering and leaving the site.
• Entering all incoming and outgoing materials onto the company database immediately.
• Notify Goods In/Out of all vehicle’s arrivals, what the vehicle is loaded with, or is collecting.
• Notify all drivers entering the site of their requirements of PPE and procedures regarding evacuation and health and safety policies and inducting new drivers.
• Accurate and full reconciliation between weighbridge records, vehicle access/egress and stock control and loading/unloading records.
• Notifying all departments as necessary of any external deliveries.
• Regulate the flow of vehicles on and off site to maximise site production.
• This is not an exhaustive list. You may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by the business that you are qualified/trained in that meet the requirements of this role.

• Working knowledge of Weight regulations as per Road Traffic Act 1988.
