Job description

Anglian Demolition & Asbestos as part of our Anglian Recycling services is looking for a Weighbridge Assistant to join our Company, based in Attleborough, Norfolk.

The role is varied from answering phones, looking after customers on email and phone, manning a busy weighbridge, weighing vehicles in and out, checking off paperwork, and entering load details into the system.

You will need to be calm under pressure and be able to communicate efficiently and professionally with drivers as well as visitors and customers on the phone and face to face.

You will also support the waste operations managers and the department as a whole with any other administrative tasks required.

Whilst full training will be provided, prior experience of working within weighbridge/operations environment would be advantageous. Previous industry experience in waste, metal recycling, scrap or construction background would also be desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide an efficient and professional service to customers.
  • Operate weighbridge equipment.
  • Monitor the weighing of vehicles.
  • Record readings on the weighbridge computer and internal systems.
  • Communicate effectively with equipment operators, drivers, and visitors/customer.
  • To ensure visiting drivers are aware of the Company Health & Safety Policy and Site Rules.
  • To ensure all customers comply with legislation when delivering and collecting from the site.
  • To record weights & waste type and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Generating waste tickets and invoices for customer and internal transactions
  • To adhere to licencing guidelines.
  • Take payments over the phone
  • To complete general admin tasks if required and other reasonable duties requested.

Skills:

  • Proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office packages and Outlook
  • Attention to detail.
  • The ability to effectively organise and prioritise work.
  • Flexible with a ‘can-do’ attitude to tasks with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a team, customer Service Skills.
  • Administration and / or weighbridge experience desirable
  • Dealing with conflict & problem solving.

Hours:

  • 42.5 hours per week – Monday – Friday 07:30am – 5:00pm (1 hour for lunch)
