The Weigh Maintenance team provides a specialist maintenance, quality assurance, and development service for a wide range of weighing equipment across the Speciality business. Although based at Rotherham site, services are also provided for Stocksbridge, Brinsworth, and Wednesbury (West Midlands).

The Role of the Weigh Maintenance Technician

• The team is responsible for ensuring all weighing equipment complies with relevant company/statutory standards and accreditations for customer quality assurances.
• The technician must be capable of undertaking routine calibration and maintenance of weighing systems including:
• Weighbridges
• Mechanical Scales
• Electronic Weigh heads
• Electronic Scales
• Weigh Platforms

Requirements of the Weigh Maintenance Technician

• The vacancy is for a technician with specific engineering knowledge and skills to undertake maintenance and quality assurance procedures for weighing equipment across the Liberty Speciality Steel sites.
• Technicians should be apprentice trained, hold BTEC and/or NVQ Level 3 (Electrical or Mechatronics), and ideally have experience in maintaining and calibrating weighing equipment.
• Team members must understand safe working procedures and apply recognized safety practices to each task, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and 'Point of work' risk assessments.
• Team members must be self-motivated and highly flexible. They are required to work unsupervised and deliver first-class customer service in accordance with departmental goals and KPIs.
• Weighing equipment must conform to Board of Trade standards, and records of proof of compliance with accreditations and ISO standards must be maintained.
• Key competencies include a methodical approach to work with attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, and effective verbal communication.
• A current UK driving license is essential.

The Working Pattern of the Weigh Maintenance Technician

• The working pattern is 7 am to 3 pm, working every other weekend with time off during the week.
