A highly regarded Small Animal Hospital and Emergency Services Clinic in Barnsley is seeking a Weekend-only Veterinary Surgeon to join its dedicated and talented first-opinion day team.

About the Hospital:

Since opening in 2002, this state-of-the-art hospital has grown into a recognised centre of excellence, offering 24/7 care with the support of an on-site team. The facility is fully equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a CT scanner, flexible and rigid endoscopes, and advanced ultrasound systems. Services range from routine consultations to neurosurgery, orthopaedics, chemotherapy, stem cell therapy, and minimally invasive procedures. The hospital has proudly received four outstanding RCVS awards, a testament to its commitment to excellence.

The Team:

The successful candidate will join a well-established, multidisciplinary team of 15 Veterinary Surgeons, 24 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 5 Animal Care Assistants, and a strong non-clinical support team. Working within this dynamic environment offers the opportunity to be involved in both general and referral-level cases under one roof, ensuring truly comprehensive care for patients.

The Role:

This role is ideally suited to a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys a varied caseload and is committed to clinical excellence. Whether recently qualified or bringing years of experience, the successful candidate will:

  • Be confident in managing routine medical and surgical cases

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to patient care, with the ability to work cases up to a high standard

  • Show enthusiasm for working collaboratively within a skilled and supportive team

Working Pattern:

  • This is a weekend-only position
