Job description

Three Counties Veterinary Emergencies, based at Coombefield Veterinary Hospital, Axminster

Weekend Day OOH Vet

Rate of pay: £30-35 per hour depending on experience

22 hours per weekend

We are excited to be expanding our OOH provision at Three Counties Veterinary Emergencies based at Coombefield Veterinary Hospital, Axminster and therefore are looking to recruit an extra vet for each weekend, to add to our existing weekend day team.

7:30am - 6:30pm Saturday and Sunday, plus 1 bank holiday per year. We can be flexible to the frequency of weekends worked. 22 hours per weekend. Holiday entitlement is paid as it accrues, as it is deemed that holiday will not be taken from shifts.

Join our friendly team

This new role will be adding to our existing weekend day team, which consists of a vet, a nurse and an ANA Saturday and Sunday, plus a Saturday morning vet. This role would consist of taking handover from the night team who finish at 8am, followed by a mixture of consultations and procedures that are presented during the course of the weekend. The two weekend day veterinary surgeons will together be responsible for the in-patients along with any patients that present, carrying out any investigations or surgery as necessary.

We have excellent facilities including 2 operating theatres, dental room, imaging suite, in-house lab with EPOC machine, cattery, kennels, isolation unit, and pharmacy.

We are expecting this role to be attractive to vets who would like to add some OOH on top of an existing role, who are missing the excitement of emergency work, without the need for sole charge, on-call shifts, or night work.
