Weekend Veterinary Surgeon – Oxfordshire
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Weekend Veterinary Surgeon to join a newly refurbished hospital in Oxfordshire. This role is ideal for a confident all-rounder who enjoys variety—covering consultations, hospitalised cases, and surgery—or for someone with a preference for consult only work, which the team are happy to accommodate. Whether you're an experienced GP vet or have a special interest you'd love to develop, this supportive environment is ready to help you shine.
The hospital has recently undergone a major transformation, now boasting cutting edge facilities including on site CT scanning, an additional operating theatre, expanded dog and cat wards, three brand new consultation rooms, dental X-ray, and separate waiting areas for dogs and cats—all designed to optimise workflow and enhance patient care. The practice acts as a central hub for out-of-hours support, hospitalisation, and advanced case work-ups for surrounding branches, while maintaining a strong first-opinion caseload during the week.
You'll be part of a welcoming, social team, working alongside certificate holders and experienced ECC colleagues, all passionate about collaboration and clinical excellence. As a weekend vet, you’ll have a clear handover structure and autonomy in case management, ensuring continuity of care while working in a professionally fulfilling setting.
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon, experienced in delivering outstanding client and patient care, and confident working independently or as part of a close knit team. Clinical leadership, collaboration, and coaching are all key elements of the role, making it a brilliant step for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact during weekend shifts.
This is your chance to be part of something special—a modern hospital, a talented and friendly team, and the flexibility to tailor your weekends your way!
