About the Role

Manage the output and performance of the Milling and Turning production departments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  1. Liaise with production controllers and Team Leaders at shift start and end regarding work priorities.
  2. Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers on work-related issues to ensure smooth shift transitions.
  3. Hold start-up meetings with departmental Team Leaders to communicate priority jobs.
  4. Resolve production or technical problems during shifts to minimize delays and maintain quality.
  5. Escalate unresolved issues promptly to minimize disruption.
  6. Request RFCs and record re-works.
  7. Observe all Health and Safety regulations.
  8. Follow company quality procedures.
  9. Perform additional duties as directed by management.
  10. Notify relevant supervisors of absences.
  11. Supervise personnel, maintain discipline, ensure policy adherence, and promote a safe working environment.
  12. Communicate staff issues to Department Heads.
  13. Conduct company team briefings.
  14. Handle emergencies, coordinate with emergency services, and document incidents.
  15. Participate in interviews for internal positions and vacancies.
  16. Conduct PDRs for Team Leaders and staff in collaboration with Team Leaders.
About You
  1. Degree in Science or Engineering.
  2. Proven leadership and management skills.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  4. Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing principles.
  5. Knowledge of transmission components and manufacturing systems.
  6. Experience in a production environment.
  7. Commercial awareness, planning, influencing, and project management skills.
  8. Strong communication and leadership qualities.
  9. Ability to manage change effectively.
  10. Organizational skills and structured problem-solving approach.
  11. Ability to work well within a team.
