Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking a CAM Programmer/Machine Operator for our Prototype Machine Shop. You will program and machine complex components for wind tunnel models, testing jigs, fixtures, and occasionally race car parts. If you can take a design from CAD to a first-off, we want to talk to you.

The role focuses on producing components efficiently, solving tooling problems, and maintaining strict deadlines in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in low-volume, high-precision prototype manufacturing.
• Strong ability to plan ahead, prioritise workloads, and operate multiple machines.
• Experience manufacturing metallic and non-metallic components, including aircraft-grade metals and high-performance engineering plastics.
• Expertise in setting, operation, and optimisation of 5-axis CNC machine tools.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, ideally Siemens NX, with ability to create and modify programs.

Responsibilities

• Producing components efficiently to minimise lead times.
• Collaborating with Toolpath Programming to resolve first-off machining issues and improve quality or runtime.
• Conduct CAM programming and machining as directed to meet deadlines.
• Work with machinists and other departments to establish best practices.
