Job description

Flixton Road Medical Centre, based in Urmston, Trafford, is looking for General Practice Salaried Doctors to work during the weekend, either on fixed sessions or rota basis.

Main duties of the job

The practice is looking for doctors to join our clinical team.

  • Available sessions include Saturday 9am-1pm and/or 1pm-5pm
  • Sunday 9am-1pm and/or 1pm-5pm

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing 13 AskMyGP consultations consisting of pre-booked face-to-face and telephone calls
  • Reviewing own blood tests and contacting patients
  • Reviewing a proportion of annual review bloods and contacting patients
  • Signing routine prescriptions (approximately 50 per session)
  • Handling limited Docman correspondence (usually max 10 letters per session)

This role suits someone with capacity to work weekends. We are open to discussing set sessions, typically between 1-4 each week.

The practice uses EMIS Web, AskMyGP, One Template, Docman, and Accurx.

Our Practice:

  • Managed by a Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager
  • Includes 2 Partners, 8 Salaried GPs, 3 GP STs, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 Assistant Practitioners, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, and a Pharmacy Technician
  • Shared ARRS staff such as Social Prescribers, First Contact Physios, and Dieticians
  • Strong administration team led by a Reception Supervisor and a Medicine Team overseen by a Medicine Manager
  • Good CQC rating and high QoF achievement
  • Designated "ward round" GP for care home patients
  • Training practice with innovative working approaches, including telephone triage since November 2019 and AMGP since January 2020
  • Active in Locally Enhanced Services and member of Trafford West PCN
Job responsibilities

The practice uses AskMyGP, with face-to-face appointments and telephone calls pre-booked for you. Each session involves 13 consultations plus time for admin tasks such as scripting, blood tests, and Docman correspondence.

Our calls are redirected to Mastercall, so no emergency calls or home visits are handled directly by the practice.

One Template is used to facilitate easy referrals and data entry during consultations.

  • Qualified GP
  • MRCGP
  • Full GMC registration
  • Registered with the National Performers List
  • Eligible to practice independently in the UK
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Valid UK driving licence
Experience
  • Primary care experience
  • Experience with EMIS Web and AMGP is beneficial but training will be provided
  • Experience with QoF and CCG/NHSE initiatives

Salary ranges from £10,300 to £11,000 per year, depending on experience.
