Job summary

Luminary Bakery Ltd is opening a brand new King’s Cross site and is looking for an experienced Production Baker to cover weekend production. This role focuses on Saturday and Sunday shifts, starting 06:00 and finishing by 15:00, with a hands-on leadership stance on the floor.

You will bake the full non-pastry production range, decorate simple slice-and-sell cakes, and support café operations during the busy midday service while maintaining high quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years' professional baking experience in production or artisan environments.
• Cake decorating: simple slice-and-sell finishes with clean, professional results.
• Independence: able to lead on shift without continual manager input.
• Pace: capable of rapid, accurate work under time pressure in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Daily Production: bake and finish full non-pastry production on weekends to stock café.
• Cake Assembly & Decoration: prepare simple slice-and-sell cakes with crumb coats and finishes.
• Sandwich & Lunch Production Support: assist café team during midday service.
• Shift Leadership: act as on-shift lead, coordinating tasks and solving day-to-day issues.
• Quality Control & Consistency: maintain Luminary's standards across batches under high volume.
