Job summary

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Cleaning Assistant to maintain clean and hygienic conditions across allocated areas in line with the Trust’s policies. The role includes following colour coding, stock management, replenishing supplies and participating in cleaning audits.

The position requires NVQ2 or equivalent in Cleaning and experience in customer-facing roles. Shift on Saturdays and Sundays 7:00am–12:00pm. NHS benefits apply, including pension and leave entitlements.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 or equivalent in Cleaning.
• Knowledge of cleaning and cleaning in similar environments.
• Experience dealing with customers in a service role (customer-facing).
• End of tenancy/education cleaning experience knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and hygienic conditions in allocated areas to meet prescribed standards.
• Follow the Trust's Colour Coding for cleaning equipment.
• Manage stores and cleaning equipment safely and securely.
• Replenish supplies in allocated areas to prescribed levels while reducing waste.
• Monitor area quality to ensure hygiene standards are met.
• Conduct periodic deep cleaning to uphold standards.
• Be prepared for major incidents or emergencies and contribute effectively.
• Perform tasks as directed by the Department to standard.
• Apply training and instructions to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Participate in cleaning audits and inspections for your area.
• Maintain high personal hygiene and courteous conduct at all times.
• Assist in HPV room decontamination processes.
