Job summary

The Jolly Drover is a charming country pub and guesthouse located on the Sussex and Hampshire border. We seek a dedicated Hotel Housekeeper to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across guest bedrooms and public areas.

Join our family-friendly team to provide a safe, welcoming experience for guests, while adhering to health and safety requirements and company policies. 20–25 hours per week with weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or hospitality preferred.
• Weekend availability is a must.
• Flexibility to work 20–25 hours per week, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare guest bedrooms, bathrooms, and public areas to the required standard.
• Change bed linen, make beds, and replenish towels and guest amenities.
• Vacuum, dust, polish, and sanitize all assigned areas thoroughly.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly to management.
• Follow health, safety, hygiene, and infection control procedures.
• Respond politely and professionally to guest requests.
• Work efficiently to meet daily room turnaround times and occupancy demands.
• Handle lost property in accordance with company procedures.
• Attend training sessions and follow company policies and procedures.

Hotel - Housekeeper at he jolly Drover is a gorgeous country pub and guesthouse situated in ideal proximity to the south downs national park, situated right on The Sussex and Hampshire border. Our family friendly restaurant is the perfect place to bring the family and our traditional menu of homemade pub grub caters for everyone.

Purpose of the Job

To maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene throughout guest bedrooms and associated areas, ensuring guests receive a comfortable, safe, and welcoming experience at all times. The Housekeeper plays an important role in supporting the hotel’s reputation by delivering efficient room cleaning services in line with company standards and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare guest bedrooms, bathrooms, and public areas to the required company standard.
• Change bed linen, make beds, and replenish towels and guest amenities.
• Vacuum, dust, polish, and sanitize all assigned areas thoroughly.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly to management.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment and chemicals are used safely and stored correctly.
• Replenish housekeeping supplies and maintain stock levels within housekeeping trolleys and storage areas.
• Follow all health, safety, hygiene, and infection control procedures.
• Respond politely and professionally to guest requests where required.
• Work efficiently to meet daily room turnaround times and occupancy demands.
• Handle lost property in accordance with company procedures.
• Support colleagues and work as part of the wider hotel team to maintain high operational standards.
• Attend training sessions and follow company policies and procedures at all times.

Job Types: Part-time, zero-hour contract
