Job summary

Pin Point Recruitment in Chepstow is seeking an HGV 1 Driver for weekend shifts. You will trunk and deliver goods on long routes with 36 hours across three days, starting between 05:00–10:00 for day shifts and 19:00–21:00 for night shifts.

Responsibilities include load/unload, route planning, complying with traffic laws, vehicle checks, and accurate delivery records. A valid CDL, clean driving record, and proven truck driving experience are required.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role.
• Ability to operate and maintain various types of trucks and trailers.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Must complete an unpaid induction before starting with the company.

Responsibilities

• Trunking and safely operate a truck to transport goods to designated locations.
• Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment.
• Plan routes and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage and fuel consumption.
• Communicate with dispatchers, customers and team members to coordinate deliveries.
