Job summary

Asplands Medical Centre in Milton Keynes is inviting a GP to join weekend clinics on alternate Saturdays for routine and long‑term condition reviews, with enhanced access hours for our Primary Care Network (PCN). The role offers longer appointments, a calm environment, and a friendly multidisciplinary team.

You will work across four sites with a diverse patient population, provide in-person and remote consultations, manage reviews, and lead clinical administration while coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

• Qualified GP on the GP Performers List with active GMC licence.
• Current UK professional registration.
• Experience of working in GP practice using Systmone is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to patient problems.
• Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Coordinate referrals and investigations for secondary care or other providers.
• Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients.
• Ensure appropriate follow up of patients.
• Record clear and contemporaneous notes in the electronic system.
• Participate in clinical audits and learning event analyses.
• Issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
• Prescribe generically when appropriate and within formulary guidance.
• Work with and support other members of the primary health care team.
• Contribute to PCN achieving key performance targets and safety metrics.
