Job description

Napier Lodge care home is looking for a Weekend Cook to join their team, cooking for our residents on Saturdays 10-3 and Sundays 9-3 (Enhance rate of x1.25 for Sundays).

The Weekend Cook is an important part of our team, providing nutritious hearty foods for our service users.

Napier Lodge is a modern, 23-bed care home in Waterlooville, recently renovated with beautiful grounds, spacious communal areas, and a new kitchen for your creativity!

About the role

Nutrition is vital to providing excellent care. As Weekend Cook, you will prepare meals following dietary and cultural requirements, showing genuine concern for our residents’ wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare nutritious meals according to guidelines and requirements
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies
  • Apply knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations
  • Engage with residents to reflect their food preferences
  • Hold Food Hygiene Level 2 certification
  • Have previous experience in food preparation within a commercial, domestic, hospital, or care setting
  • Show warmth and approachability to connect with residents and vulnerable adults
