Job summary

York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (LLP) is seeking a friendly Cleaning and Catering Operative for Nelsons Court. The role covers cleaning and basic catering duties across a designated ward area, with weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.

The ideal candidate will read, write and converse in English, be able to follow the work schedule, and participate in training including COSHH and infection prevention measures. NHS benefits and a relocation package are available.

Qualifications

• Good basic education - reading and writing plus basic numeric skills.
• Willing to complete appropriate qualifications or training relevant to the role as and when required.
• BICSc Qualification/NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning/Catering or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness across a designated area according to the work schedule.
• Provide a catering service and assist plating up of meals to meet dietary requirements.
• Make hot drinks and manage water jugs; support with equipment handling as trained.
• Work with minimal supervision and manage time under pressure to maintain standards.
