Job summary

Chapter 2 is seeking a Weekend Chef to work onsite at Redford Court, Liverpool. The role runs Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 7pm, offering up to £15.43 per hour and a supportive team environment.

The successful candidate will prepare and present meals to high standards, manage food safety, and contribute to a safe, efficient kitchen operation with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Food Hygiene or higher.
• NVQ/SVQ Level 2 General Catering or equivalent.
• Experience working in kitchens and cooking for large groups.
• Ability to cater for varying dietary needs and modified diets (IDDSI).
• Knowledge of COSHH, Health & Safety, and HACCP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, store and present all food safely to meet standards.
• Keep all equipment clean and well-maintained after shifts.
• Record cleaning and equipment maintenance as required by policies.
• Report faults and maintenance needs promptly.
• Record information per policies and procedures and communicate with service users.

Weekend Chef- Onsite

Location: Redford court- Liverpool

Salary: Up to £15.43 per hour

Hours: 10am-7pm - Saturday and Sunday.

About the role:

• To ensure that all food is correctly and safely prepared, stored, and presented in a way which meets agreed standards
• Responsible to ensure all equipment is left clean at end of the shift in line with systems in place
• Responsible to ensure recording of cleaning and equipment maintenance schedules is in line with policies and procedures
• To report equipment faults, repair and maintenance needs in line with local procedures
• To record all information as required by policies and procedures
• To report any unmet training need in use of equipment or processes
• Facilitating the safe and smooth running of the Service, the post holder is expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally taking on reasonable additional tasks

About you:

• Experience in modified diet (IDDSI)
• Level 2 Food Hygiene or higher
• NVQ or SVQ Level 2 General Catering or equivalent
• Previous experience of working in kitchens
• Demonstrable skills in cooking for large groups of people and an ability to cater for varying dietary needs
• Knowledge of regulations, e.g. COSHH, Health & Safety, HACCP
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work closely with service users and communicate effectively with them
• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Competent IT skills
