Job summary

RNN Group is seeking an Animal Care Technician to cover weekends and holidays at Dearne Valley College, Rotherham. The role focuses on hands-on animal care, observation of resident health, and year-round welfare, with duties that include supervising learners and assisting with practical demonstrations.

The ideal candidate will have animal care qualifications (Level 3+) and English/Maths at Level 2, plus First Aid and Health & Safety training.

Qualifications

• Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths
• Level 3 or above animal care qualification
• Certification of Emergency First Aid and Health and Safety training (or willingness to undertake)

Responsibilities

• Supervise learners during practical sessions and work experience
• Ensure all animals receive full year-round care and manage cover arrangements
• Assist Lead Technician with stock control for animal and land-based resources and prepare/demo equipment for practical work
