Watermeadow Grange in Topsham, Exeter is a beautiful care home providing 86 spacious ensuite bedrooms, including a community dedicated to the care of people living with dementia.

We are seeking an Administration Assistant/Receptionist to be the first point of contact at the home. The ideal candidate will possess a range of skills, good IT experience, and attention to detail.

This is a part-time role working weekends, with flexibility to cover weekday annual leave and adhoc sickness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Welcome and greet visitors professionally, ensuring the visitors book and identity checks are completed appropriately.
  2. Answer the telephone, respond to enquiries, redirect calls as necessary, and record messages.
  3. Provide administrative support to the Home Administrator, mainly HR-related duties, and cover financial aspects when needed.
  4. Assist with recruitment tasks, including sifting CVs, chasing references, and verifying ID documents.
  5. Organise internal meetings and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
  6. Coordinate staff meal processes as applicable.
  7. Respond to emergency situations as required.
  8. Maintain the tidiness of the reception area, liaising with housekeeping to uphold standards.

Person Specification:

  1. Excellent customer service skills.
  2. IT literacy with competent use of systems.
  3. Previous telephone experience with a professional manner.
  4. Knowledge of general administration.
  5. Good communication skills.
  6. Neat and well-presented appearance.
