JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary objectives for the Food and Beverage Supervisor will be:

To assist in the management of the day-to-day operations of the Abbey Kitchen Restaurant and Rufford Mill Wedding Venue in order to maximise business opportunities in line with the company business plan

To be part of the Food and Beverage team that provides an exciting, healthy, innovative, quality food and beverage operation in order to create demand which meets customer needs whilst increasing profitability.

To provide the highest possible standards of Customer Care within a healthy and safe environment by guiding, caring for and assisting customers in their choice and use of the catering facilities.

Ensuring excellent presentation of food and beverages to the customer at all times.

Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness at all times.

Being aware of all Health and Safety issues, constantly implementing and assessing procedures, and drawing attention to any useful practices.

Providing innovative ideas and initiating action to increase the usage of the Food and Beverage facilities.

Ensure company financial regulations are adhered to in terms of cash handling, reconciliation and invoice processing.

Ensure staff understand and observe matters relating to licensing laws.

To assist in the provision of appropriate staff training and development.

Working as part of a team to achieve the usage and profitability targets of the catering facilities.

The Food and Beverage Team Supervisor will focus day to day on the following tasks:

Support the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages as appropriate.

To ensure sufficient staff are available for the safe, high quality functioning of the Catering areas.

Ensure that kitchens, food preparation areas, serveriesand customer areas are clean and tidy, including the clearing of tables.

To ensure that Food and Beverage areas are well presented.

To serve Food and Beverages as appropriate.

To carry out Bar Services as required.

To support the F&B Manager with the staffing for weekly rotas and ensuring staff are cancelled, sent home early, adapting outlet times depending on the weather and business of the site

Maintain Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.

To take cash from customers and ensure all cash handling procedures are adhered to.

Stimulate secondary spend by facility users by way of regular promotional activity.

Monitor food and beverage stocks, restocking as required.

To undertake any other duties as may be required to assist in the running of the overall facility.

THE CANDIDATE
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

The post holderwill ideally hold a basic food hygiene certificate and have at least one year's experience in a Restaurant and Function suite. Preferably have a personal licence with a management background. Food preparation and in particular service skills are key to this position.
