Job summary

Virgin Active & KAUAI seeks a Web Engineer to join the Digital & Technology Transformation Team. You will build and maintain modern web apps with React, Next.js, and TypeScript, contributing to a scalable design system and multi-market platform across global territories.

Work with Product and Design to translate ideas into robust technical solutions, support APIs and CI/CD pipelines, and advance testing, performance, accessibility and delivery practices.

• Proven experience building modern web applications in production.
• Expertise in React, Next.js, TypeScript and Storybook.
• Designed scalable, maintainable architectures and component-driven apps.
• Strong API design and integration experience.

The Role

• Building and maintaining modern web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and related technologies.

Who We're Looking For

• Strong commercial experience building modern web applications in production environments.
• Expertise in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Storybook.
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable architectures and component-driven applications.
• Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
• Knowledge of web performance, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• A pragmatic approach to balancing quality, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability.
• Experience with headless CMS platforms (nice to have).
• Exposure to design systems and multi-market digital platforms (nice to have).
• Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (nice to have).
