Job summary

Client Server is seeking a Web Developer to re-architect and enhance a real-time shift rota platform used by the NHS. The product is hosted on AWS and accessible via web and mobile (iOS/Android).

You will concentrate on the frontend using Angular, with some Java backend exposure and SQL query optimisation. The team is small and collaborative, with 3–4 days in the London office and 1–2 days at home.

Qualifications

• Experience with relational databases and SQL query writing.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, real-time systems, CI/CD.
• Strong software engineering practices and Agile methodologies.
• Experience in start-ups or SMEs with varied responsibilities.
• Collaborative, pragmatic with good communication; able to mentor others.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a top-tier university.
• Experience with Angular Ionic for mobile apps is helpful but not essential.

Job description

You could be progressing your career in a hands-on, impactful, Web Developer role, working on a "tech for good" product that is helping to drive efficiencies for the NHS, the core product is a highly complex real-time shift rota application, hosted on AWS and available via the web or mobile device (iOS / Android).

As a Web Developer you will play a crucial role in re-architecting and enhancing the front end scheduling platform to Angular codebase. You'll have focus on frontend projects, using modern Angular 21 as well as writing and optimising SQL database queries, with some Java backend exposure.

You'll input into technical discussions and decision making, as a senior member of a small team where you'll be able to influence best practice and technology choices.

Location / WFH:

You'll join colleagues in the London, City based offices 3-4 days a week with some flexibility to work from home 1-2 days.

About you:

• You have experience with relational databases and SQL query writing
• You have a good understanding of REST APIs, real-time systems, CI/CD
• You have a strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and Agile development methodologies
• You have experience in start-ups or SMEs with a variety of responsibilities
• You're collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills, happy to mentor and develop others
• You're degree educated in Computer Science or similar technical discipline, gained at a top tier university
• Experience with Angular Ionic for mobile applications would be great but not essential
