Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Director – Engineering Lead for Wealth Management to drive and shape engineering across digital platforms, web and mobile journeys. You will lead multi‑discipline teams, set standards, and align frontend, middleware and backend services with the PBWM technology strategy and business objectives.

You will collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture and Risk teams to deliver robust, scalable and compliant experiences while ensuring delivery quality and operational resilience in

Qualifications

• Senior engineering leadership experience in digital and full‑stack platforms within regulated environments.
• Experience shaping engineering standards, platforms or frameworks at scale.
• Strong understanding of governance, security, performance and resilience in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop high‑performing engineering teams across Wealth Management platforms.
• Own and execute the engineering roadmap aligned to technology strategy and business objectives.
• Drive design and delivery of scalable experiences across web and mobile with API‑led architectures.
• Provide senior technical leadership with hands‑on oversight to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, UX, Architects, Operations and SMEs to align outcomes end‑to‑end.
• Govern engineering standards, components and platform capabilities for reuse and efficiency.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, risk management and operational resilience across engineering activities.
• Manage delivery outcomes across quality, time, cost and risk; escalate complex issues.
• Advise on platform modernization, tooling, automation and simplification initiatives.
