Terracotta Property seeks a Chartered Building Surveyor and a Registered Valuation Surveyor. The roles involve offering a full suite of property services with significant client interaction in a growing firm. Terracotta Property is looking to appoint both a Chartered Building Surveyor and a Registered Valuation Surveyor (2 yrs PQE). This is an exciting time for the independent property firm with an abundance of new works streams and substantial growth afoot.
Due to the continued growth of our business, we have an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our expanding Building Surveying Team and a Registered Valuation Surveyor to join the Valuation Team. The company is based in London Bridge, but we cover all of London. The Building Surveying team is led by Tom Birch and you will be reporting directly into him. The Valuation Team by Charlie Crocker who you will report to.
The Building Surveying Team provides the full suite of professional services includingPre-Acquisition / Due Diligence Surveys, Party Wall, Dilapidations, Schedules of Condition, Planned Maintenance, Defect Diagnosis, Cost Consultancy and Reinstatement Cost Assessments alongside both Contract Administration and Project Management instructions.
The Valuation Team values all types of assets such as Residential, Commercial, Semi-Commercial, Industrial, Office and Retail, predominantly for loan security. We also value for tax purposes, undertake development appraisals and lease extension / enfranchisement work. The successful valuation candidate must be 2 years PQE and be comfortable valuing commercial property.
We require people with good knowledge and experience in providing professional services on a range of property types within Greater London and into the Home Counties.
Main Duties
Assisting with the development and progression of junior members of staff towards Chartership
Tracking instructions and associated fees. Identifying areas of profitability and growth
Ability to prioritise and coordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
Maintain a positive attitude towards routine tasks
Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
Flexible approach to work
Understands and appreciates the importance of using discretion
To prepare ad-hoc advice in a limited time frame
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Detailed analytical skills, basic numeracy, and good attention to detail
An ability to carry out research, work independently and present this information clearly
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Team player who deals effectively with colleagues and clients
Full UK Driving Licence
Good interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form professional relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels
Confident and assertive where required
Sociable and outgoing
The role will be client-facing, working with anyone from private developers, development companies, housing associations, local authorities, private individuals, and banks etc. You will also be expected to report to and work with all members of the team. You will have a graduate on rotation to mentor and assess.

Salary
Chartered Building Surveyor: £60,000 - £90,000 experience depending
Registered Valuation Surveyor (2yrsPQE): £60,000 - £90,000 experience depending
