Job summary

UK Athletics is seeking an expert Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant to support our World Class Programme at the National Performance Institute in Loughborough. The role combines autonomous clinical responsibility with collaboration in a high-performance MDT to optimise medical care for Olympic and Paralympic athletes as they prepare for LA 2028.

The successful candidate will travel with teams to major events and contribute to load management, musculoskeletal care, RED-S, and performance

Qualifications

• GMC registration with Specialist Registration in Sport & Exercise Medicine (or equivalent) is required or highly desirable.
• Substantial post-specialist experience relevant to elite sports medicine.

• Provide cutting-edge medical support to Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

• Deliver medical services as part of the National Performance Institute in Loughborough.

In this pivotal consultancy role, the appointed consultant will be expected to both work autonomously and collaboratively within a high-performance multidisciplinary team to deliver cutting‑edge medical support to Olympic and Paralympic athletes as they prepare for the LA 2028 cycle.
