About the role

As an Occupational Therapist Functional Assessor at Maximus, you'll use your clinical expertise to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You’ll work on complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders. Your compassion and experience will help customers move forward with their lives.

The role is both challenging and rewarding. We provide tailored training to help you succeed, including 6 weeks of initial training, ongoing support, and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life.
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine eligibility for benefits.
• Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision.

Requirements

• Valid HCPC registration number.
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience, gained within or outside of the NHS.
• You must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports.
