  • Nurse – Functional Assessor - Welsh language speaking is desirable but not essential
  • Location: Cardiff
  • Annual salary: £39,500 + excellent benefits
  • Hours of work: Full or part time available, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with hybrid working

Role overview

Carry out telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. Produce factual reports to assist the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in determining eligibility for benefits. The work is impactful and requires respectful, quality service, with support provided to manage caseloads effectively.

Candidate requirements

  • An NMC registered nurse with at least 1 year’s broad post-registration experience
  • Proactive and eager to learn
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Comfortable working towards targets in a supportive environment
  • Experience with diverse conditions, including mental health
