Working hours: Monday to Friday – 09:00 to 17:00

Salary: £39,500 per year

About the role

As a Nurse Functional Assessor at Maximus, you\'ll assess how a person\'s disability or health condition impacts their daily living. You\'ll work on complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders, applying your compassion and experience to help customers move forward with their lives. A tailored training programme is provided to help you thrive, including formal training at the outset and ongoing support and mentorship.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person\'s disability or health condition affects their daily life
  • Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine eligibility for benefits
  • Develop clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision
Requirements
  • Valid NMC registration number
  • At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience (NHS or non-NHS)
  • You MUST have the right to work in the UK – we cannot offer sponsorships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports
