Job summary

Fisher German LLP in Hungerford or Banbury is seeking a Wayleave Officer to join our Infrastructure Services team. This permanent, full-time role offers hybrid working in line with policy.

You will conduct due diligence, review agreements, and assist in drafting landowner consents while collaborating with GIS and project teams. The successful candidate will have property/infrastructure experience, strong negotiation skills, and a willingness to travel for site visits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in property, utilities, agriculture, or infrastructure environments.
• Direct experience dealing with members of the public, landowners, or tenants in a customer-facing or advisory capacity.
• Track record of handling basic negotiations and managing simple property/land agreements.
• Confident handling of objections and managing difficult or sensitive conversations.
• Comfortable working independently in the field and managing daily site schedules.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively for site visits and negotiations.
• Experience managing multiple projects and high volumes of instructions simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Conduct project due diligence and execute follow-up actions to keep projects on track.
• Review wayleave/easement agreements and perform basic Land Registry checks.
• Collate landownership data, issue project letters, and draft landowner consents including wayleaves.
• Work with GIS team to create land ownership plans and Land Registry-compliant drawings.
• Coordinate and attend site meetings with landowners, corporate clients, and internal teams.
• Respond to day-to-day project enquiries and escalate complex/sensitive issues.
• Provide regular client updates and manage project progress in internal systems.
• Instruct external solicitors and monitor progress to ensure land agreements move to legal completion.

Our Infrastructure Services team is experiencing significant growth, and we're excited to be building a brand new team of Wayleave Officers.

This is a permanent, full‑time position based in our Hungerford or Banbury office, with the flexibility of hybrid working in line with our company policy.

Duties will include:

• Conduct project due diligence and execute necessary follow‑up actions to keep projects on track.
• Review existing wayleave/easement agreements and perform basic Land Registry title checks.
• Collate accurate landownership data, issue project letters, and assist in drafting official landowner consents, including wayleaves and heads of terms.
• Work closely with the GIS team to help create land ownership plans, access routes, and Land Registry‑compliant drawings.
• Coordinate and attend site meetings with landowners, corporate clients, and internal project teams.
• Respond to day to day project enquiries, escalating complex or sensitive issues to senior team members when needed.
• Provide regular client updates including attendance at regular client meetings (virtual and in person), and managing project progress using internal systems
• Instruct external solicitors and monitor progress to ensure land agreements move smoothly to legal completion.

The successful candidate will have...
