Job summary

Fisher German LLP in the UK is expanding its Infrastructure Services team and seeking a capable Wayleave Officer to join a brand-new group. You will review agreements, draft landowner consents, and support project teams across multiple sites with travel obligations.

You will work with GIS specialists to map land ownership, coordinate site meetings, and maintain clear client communications, while upholding the firm’s high standards and wide national reach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in property, utilities, agriculture, or infrastructure environments.
• Experience dealing with landowners or tenants in advisory or customer-facing roles.
• Track record of negotiating and managing simple property/land agreements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct project due diligence and follow-up actions to keep projects on track.
• Review wayleave/easement agreements and perform basic Land Registry checks.
• Collate landownership data, issue project letters, and draft landowner consents.
• Work with GIS to create land ownership plans and compliant drawings.
• Coordinate site meetings with landowners, clients, and internal teams.
• Respond to enquiries and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Provide regular client updates and manage project progress in internal systems.
• Instruct external solicitors and monitor progress to legal completion.

Our Infrastructure Services team is experiencing significant growth, and we're excited to be building a brand new team of Wayleave Officers.

We're looking for an ambitious and experienced Wayleave professionals to join us during this exciting period of expansion. This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Hungerford or Banbury office, with the flexibility of hybrid working in line with our company policy.

Duties will include:

• Conduct project due diligence and execute necessary follow-up actions to keep projects on track.
• Review existing wayleave/easement agreements and perform basic Land Registry title checks.
• Collate accurate landownership data, issue project letters, and assist in drafting official landowner consents, including wayleaves and heads of terms.
• Work closely with the GIS team to help create land ownership plans, access routes, and Land Registry‑compliant drawings.
• Coordinate and attend site meetings with landowners, corporate clients, and internal project teams.
• Respond to day to day project enquiries, escalating complex or sensitive issues to senior team members when needed.
• Provide regular client updates including attendance at regular client meetings (virtual and in person), and managing project progress using internal systems
• Instruct external solicitors and monitor progress to ensure land agreements move smoothly to legal completion.

The successful candidate will have...

• Proven experience working in property, utilities, agriculture, or an infrastructure-related environment.
• Direct experience dealing with members of the public, landowners, or tenants in a customer‑facing or advisory capacity.
• Track record of handling basic negotiations and managing simple property/land agreements.
• Confident handling objections and managing difficult or sensitive conversations calmly.
• Comfortable working independently in the field and managing their own daily site schedule.
• UK driving licence and the willingness to travel extensively for site visits and face‑to‑face landowner negotiations.
• Experience managing multiple projects and high volumes of instructions simultaneously.
