Job summary

CleanTech Talent is assisting a consultancy delivering waterway restoration projects across the UK. The role involves assessing, designing and overseeing river habitat restoration, pond enhancements, erosion control and wetland creation with nationwide travel.

You will work with colleagues across consultancy and operations, coordinating site investigations, designs and reports while mentoring junior staff and promoting a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in landscape, consultancy, civil/environmental engineering, wetlands, restoration, or ecology.
  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in environmental science, hydrology, ecology, geology, landscape or similar fields.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Comfortable working in and around water; being able to swim is required.
  • Knowledge of river restoration, geomorphology, or hydrology.
  • SMSTS/CSCS accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site investigations near waterways, producing technical designs or collaborating with the technical team, cost estimates, and reports.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of projects from concept to delivery, including setting up programs, obtaining permits, and supervising installations.
  • Perform topographical surveys and utilise GIS/CAD tools to create impactful designs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, oversee budgets, and ensure timelines are met.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning.

The Role

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant, you'll assess, design, and oversee the delivery of diverse projects, including river habitat restoration, pond enhancements, erosion control, and wetland creation. You'll collaborate with colleagues across consultancy and operations, with travel to some of the most incredible landscape nationwide.

Attributes Required
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver projects, with at least 3 years of relevant experience (landscape, consultancy, civil/environmental engineering, wetlands, restoration, or ecology).
  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in environmental science, hydrology, ecology, geology, landscape or similar fields.
  • Passionate about environmental solutions.
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel.
  • Comfortable working in and around water – being able to swim is required.
  • Knowledge of river restoration, geomorphology, or hydrology.
  • Familiarity with on‑site construction and use of plant equipment
  • Drone surveying experience
  • SMSTS/CSCS accreditation.
