Job description

We are looking for keen and enthusiastic people who are able to host guided walks for members of the public and community groups. You’ll help thousands of people enjoy the network like never before and contribute to our goal of keeping canals alive.

Walking in the great outdoors can improve your physical and mental well-being. Our 2,000 miles of canal towpaths provide largely flat, traffic-free walking routes, taking you from the inner city into the countryside.

Our aim is to encourage people to get out walking and enjoy the outdoors safely, promoting healthier lifestyles. To achieve this, we need passionate individuals to share their enthusiasm for walking with others in their community by leading local walks.

You will work with the Task Manager, Walk Assistants, and other Walk Leaders to deliver accessible walks that help people incorporate activity into their lives and experience its benefits. We want everyone to have access to short, friendly group walks near Canal & River Trust waterways to help them become and stay healthy.

This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in waterways or looking to develop their leadership skills. Find out more about what opportunities await you as a Waterside Leader by applying today.
