Job Description

A Water/Wastewater Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, from planning and design to construction and completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all technical specifications while adhering to environmental regulations, often working closely with clients, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to manage complex municipal or industrial water and wastewater systems.

Water/Wastewater Project Manager

Requirements:
• BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania is required.
• 15+ years of experience with water/wastewater engineering, including new infrastructure and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure for sewer collection, conveyance, pump stations, and treatment; and water supply, treatment, transmission, storage, pumping, and distribution.
• Experience working with local and state agencies including PADEP.
• Progressive experience working directly with clients and managing all aspects of projects.
• Excellent communication, project management, and client relation skills.
• Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for understanding and adhering to contractual requirements.
• Preparation of Act 537 Plans is a plus.
• Some AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of multiple engineering projects for client representatives and senior project managers.
• Assist with client representation including public meeting attendance.
• Supervise department staff assigned to projects.
• Prepare evaluations of existing and proposed facilities to identify alternatives for improvements including project costing.
• Supervise the preparation of plans and specifications, permitting, bidding, and construction administration for capital projects.
• Sewer system condition evaluations including televising of sewers.
• Coordinating with contractors and client staff.
• Act 537 Plans.
• Chapter 94 Reports.
• Review of proposed land development projects.
• Assisting with QA/QC for design reviews.

• Responsibilities include preparation of design plans, construction specifications, and studies for water/wastewater infrastructure construction
• Researching state and local design standards
• Coordinating with contractors and clients’ engineering staff
• Assisting QA/QC design reviews
• Assisting Project Managers with a variety of engineering projects.

Requirements:
• BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Pennsylvania Professional Engineers Registration or ability to obtain.
• 7+ years of experience with water/wastewater design and strong organizational skills.
