Job summary

EMCOR UK, part of OCS, delivers facilities management for the Defence sector. Located in Aldermaston, this role provides technical support on Water Treatment services and oversees planned maintenance and reactive repairs to keep site facilities compliant and efficient.

You will supervise the Water Treatment team, develop proposals, monitor costs and schedules, and promote safety and training. Candidates should hold NVQ Level 3 in Water Treatment or equivalent and have supervisory experience.

Qualifications

Holds a Water Treatment qualification or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Experience in supervisory roles within Water Treatment works.
Commercial awareness with budget preparation and management.

Responsibilities

Supervise Water Treatment team with effective communication, training, and development.
Evaluate customer requirements and prepare costed proposals with timescales.
Monitor planned maintenance and remedial works, agreeing costs and timelines to meet customer and regulatory standards.
Support SH&E improvements and risk management with the site HSE&Q team and monitor safety performance.
Identify training needs and develop a performance system assessing team competencies.

Role Overview

Location: Aldermaston

Salary: £43,989

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:45 – 16:30 (16:15 on Fridays) + 9 day fortnight

Job Purpose

To provide technical support on Water Treatment Services to buildings and plant planned maintenance and reactive repair service to the site. To ensure that new and innovative techniques are developed and implemented to the highest standards in order to ensure maximum operational efficiency. To support the Site Safety, Health and Environment within the team, and their activities.

About The Role

What you’ll do:

Support the Section Lead with the supervision and development of the Water Treatment team through effective communication, training and development.
Evaluate customer requirements and produce proposals including cost and timescales.
Monitor the progress of the planned maintenance and remedial works to agree costs and time and ensuring all works are completed to the satisfaction of the customer and regulatory authorities.
To support and manage the promotion and improvements to the teams Safety, Health and Environment and risk management processes and in conjunction with the site HSE&Q team, regularly monitor the safety performance of all service aspects. Identify areas for improvement.
Identify training and development needs, including the creation of a performance system, which assesses the competencies of employees and others.

Who You'll Be

Hold a relevant Water Treatment qualification of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
Strong working knowledge of Management disciplines in Water Treatment works
Have experience in a Supervisory environment with Water Treatment works as a component responsibility.
Be commercially aware and have a sound knowledge of budget preparation, negotiation and management.
Have good people management, leadership, decision-making and communications skills.
Experience working in a highly regulatory environment.
The ability to obtain Security Clearance.
