Are you a detail-oriented and driven professional with expertise in water treatment and Legionella risk assessments? My client is seeking a Project Engineer to join their expanding team, focusing on pre-mobilisation, design coordination, and project delivery.
As a Water Treatment Engineer, you will be:
- Attending site visits across the UK.
- Conducting comprehensive Legionella risk assessments compliant with ACoP L8, HSG274, and British Standards.
- Producing clear, accurate reports with actionable recommendations for clients.
- Developing and maintain tailored water system control schemes.
- Performing routine water monitoring and sampling, including temperature checks, dip slides, pH, and conductivity.
- Executing chlorination, disinfection, and minor plumbing remedial works in accordance with BS 8558.
- Analysing and dose closed water systems as required.
- Liaising professionally with clients, providing compliance updates and technical advice.
- Maintaining detailed service records and logbooks, ensuring compliance with contractual and legislative requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve water system safety and efficiency.
- Any other duties required.
Skills & Qualifications required:
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Water Treatment, Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous experience in water treatment and hygiene services.
- Proven expertise conducting Legionella Risk Assessments following ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidelines.
- Experience in routine water system monitoring, cleaning, disinfection, and sampling.
- Comfortable working across healthcare, education, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, ACoP L8, HSG274, and BS 8558.
- Understanding of closed system treatment and basic Building Management Systems (BMS).
